Precise locality?
Howard,

Please email me. I'd like to get the exact location from you so that I can go out and collect some specimens in order to confirm their identity.

Thanks!

Dutch Gap is in Chesterfield
Dutch Gap is in Chesterfield County.

Any chance that this specimen was collected for examination?

True
I've updated the location info. I mentally cast a wide net at what I call Richmond, when I really mean Richmond and the surrounding environs.

I don't collect live specimens, so I don't have this one. Is it something unusual? I actually encountered it in a disturbed area immediately outside the park. It was in the same patch as these primrose.

yes, it's a European sp. not previously recorded in e.US
all we know about this new arrival is two submissions posted on BG
experts need specimens for study -- to figure out what exact species we're dealing with

Oh wow
If I run across it again, I'll try to retain one.

"Richmond City Region County" -- is this an official name?

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks!
And the site tacks "County" on to the end automatically. It's the city of Richmond, which does not belong to any county, and that's hard to make clear on here. I don't put just Richmond because, somewhat confusingly, there is also a Richmond County in Virginia which is a completely separate locale. So I use "Richmond City Region", which the site then further compounds into the unwieldy name shown.

i see
to avoid confusion, put "Richmond" in the City box (where it belongs) and leave the county field blank

Good idea
When I first started posting here I thought County/Parish/District/Region was a required field and just got into the habit. I'll try to make future local postings from Richmond city instead.
