Styloxus bicolor
I agree with the original ID on this one based on the reddish head color and the shape of the antennal tubercles. These specimens do not match the
Styloxus fulleri fulleri
posted to the guide from Texas. The distribution range included in Linsley (1962)
(
1
)
for this taxon lists Texas and Central Mexico, while that for
S. bicolor
is New Mexico to California.
I would further suggest that all Arizona specimens currently identified to
S. fulleri fulleri
are actually
Styloxus bicolor
.
