possibly Glipa sp - not many have this size.

 
Yakuhananomia bidentata
Y. bidentata (formerly listed under Gilpa) - only thing close to this size. This individual has much of the dorsal pubescence rubbed off. But if you look at any of the images currently in the Guide other than the thumb above, you'll notice the same red/brown ground color.

Wow, that's a mouthful :^P Thanks for the ID and image compliment. My specimen looks like it has quite a few miles on it compared to the ones in the other fine images.

Looks
like a tumbling flower beetle(Mordellidae) to me. Maybe someone else will ID it further. Amazing photo!
