Fishfly - Chauliodes pectinicornis

Fishfly - Chauliodes pectinicornis
Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA
May 31, 2008
Size: 2 inches
This is one of the largest fishflies I have ever seen. It was just a tad longer than 2 inches. I almost thought it was a dobsonfly by the size, but once I looked at the mandibles I was sure it was a fishfly. I guess this is a spring fishfly by its color and its size.
