Creating a guide page

See Robin McLeod's article on Page Creation Tips for steps needed to make sure the name is consistent with our references, etc.

To create the page:

go to taxonomy view on the node to which you're going to attach the guide page (in this case the genus)

click on "add guide"
enter the scientific name
enter the common name if you know it, otherwise leave it blank
click on the "add" button

click on "normal view" or the link for the genus to return to normal view
If you need to change the order of the guide pages, click "reorder guides"
change the numbers so they're in the correct order
click on the "reorder" button. The taxa will now be in numerical order according to the numbers you just entered.
click on normal view, or on the link for one of the taxa

You have now created your guide page.

I've listed all these steps on the assumption you've forgotten how to create a guide page (and for the benefit of any new editors who haven't learned yet). If you have some other reason for not doing so yourself, I'll be happy to do it for you.

Thanks, Chuck. Apparently I misread the "help" section to mean that I was supposed to ask assistance rather than set up a Guide Page myself.

I've now read Robin's advice post and have another question: two entomology professors have given the antlion in question a genus name that does not appear in the Nearctica list of antlions. Moreover, that genus already has a Guide Page (for another species) on BugGuide. I'm going to go on and add a species page for "my" antlion, because there's another image identified as the same species, also sitting at the genus level waiting for a place to go. If that's wrong, yell now...
