This reminds me of Aglossa pinguinalis , but I am not SURE and it would be a first for Minnisota.

Maybe Jim Sogaard will chime in.

 
I'm not sure either
but I wonder if it might be a very worn Idia lubricalis.

 
Looking again
I'm now convinced on Idia lubricalis, noting especially the distinctive reniform spot.

Thanks Jim. I considered Idia lubricalis too, but it was SO worn and they are usually so dark. I have had trouble with these two before.
