Eacles imperialis Imperial Moth? - Eacles imperialis - Male Female
Burtonsville, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
August 2, 2020
Size: Maybe 6 inch wingspan
Eacles imperialis - Imperial Moth, I believe? On a White Pine tree. I saw two large moths in the dark flying around a pine tree, repeatedly colliding with the tree. I waited for one to land to take a picture. When one landed I turned on the phone flashloght to find a pair of moths apparently copulating.
