Robber fly - Promachus rufipes - female

Robber fly - Promachus rufipes - Female
Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA
August 4, 2020
Size: 1.5-2 inches
This is the first time I have ever seen a bug like this in my area. The body was yellow and black stripe resembling a bee actually. It attacked a honey bee then flew in my car as I was pulling out of my driveway. I think it is a type of robber fly. I was wondering what type? And where are they usually found... because it is not Pennsylvania lol

Moved from ID Request.

It is a Robber Fly
Looks like it may be the Red-footed Cannibalfly, Promachus rufipes. They are common enough in PA, around this time of year.
