his comment: "large-eyed male form of Valenzuela flavidus (called Caecilius flavidus in my book). In the Smoky Mountains there are two forms -- this one and a small-eyed male. I have seen hundreds of specimens and find no intermediates, so they may be distinct species, but there is a problem in separating females."
