Thanks to Joerg for pointing this guy out. Found on the Canyon Trail, perched on a manzanita leaf...and quite bold & unafraid, as these guys are renowned to be. But eventually it started "shivering" to warm up its thoracic flight muscles, and then took off.

This is a male (from the absence of a pointed ovipositor sticking out the middle of the terminal cerci).
