Eupeodes?

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Could this be Eupeodes abiskoensis
Could this be Eupeodes abiskoensis … male?

I was thinking maybe E. monta
I was thinking maybe E. montanus ...?

Very similar one, but maybe a different species, from Colorado at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/51275803 which is outside of range for abiskoensis

But no, all-red T5 rules out montanus .... see https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/54350567
That one apparently keys to talus (unless it's another flukei if I misinterpreted the scutellar seta color)

Similar in habit and appearance to a recent one
See https://bugguide.net/node/view/1870620. Both these eupeodes were on mountaintops. That is the only place I saw ones that looked like this with the reddish colored bands on the abdomen. Perhaps they are the same species. Both around 7000-8000 ft.
