Naperville - my back yard, Dupage County, Illinois, USA

Size: 2mm or so
Tiny copper colored moth, was no bigger than a very slender grain of rice. Found resting on a leaf in the shade of my backyard. Captured it in a small petri dish to photograph.

beautiful moth
I assume it's something else, because of differences in the forewing pattern between this image and the BG images ID'd as S. resplendensella, but I'm not an expert.

Mine doesn't have the light colored Fringe at the base of the wings though.

Thanks, I missed those images at the genus level. Whatever it is it was a cool find. It looked like a tiny copper seed bead.
