Size: 1-2 mm
Saw three of these tiny guys on a Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) leaf. Any ID help appreciated.

Looks more like Illinoia to me...

...but that's just a wild guess on my part. Hold on to find out what Natalie, our aphid expert, has to say.

There aren't many aphids that colonize Tulip tree, and the few others are the common polyphagous species, but they usually aren't yellowish and they don't have swollen siphunculi.

Thanks, Ken. I don't have much knowledge about inverts, but I manage a 125-acre natural area in SE Pennsylvania and I've been trying to catalog everything that I can.

And, I just took a look at Illinoia liriodendri, and it's certainly the right habitat. :-)
