The only time I have seen these was at the 2017 BG meeting in Minnesota. I think the concensus there was that these are so variable that species placement is almost impossible and you can have at least 4 species in Virginia.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It does look quite like the False crocus geometer (Xanthotype urticaria) in Peterson, although I understand the Crocus geometer X. sospita can look about the same.
