fishing spider - Dolomedes
Howland Island, Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area, Cayuga County, New York, USA

Size: ~1.5in
Seen resting on a smartweed leaf well above the water. Extremely calm, allowed me to touch it without any reaction. Much darker in color than the Dolomedes triton that I normally see at these sites. Just wondering if it's natural variation or a different species.
