Cabbage White? caught by Jagged Ambush bug? - Pieris rapae

Cabbage White? caught by Jagged Ambush bug? - Pieris rapae
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
August 29, 2020
Cabbage White? caught by Jagged Ambush bug? I was wondering why I was able to approach the Cabbage white butterfly so closely then noticed it was caught by a Jagged Ambush bug. I tried pulling it away but it would not release it. I think the Cabbage white has established itself as pest level for some crops since it was introduced in 1860's but it looks like some of the native ambush bugs serve to control their population.
