sawfly? - Crabro - male

sawfly? - Crabro - Male
Cardigan, Kings County, Prince Edward Island, Canada
August 9, 2020
Size: ~1/2 inch
Seen on raspberry, but that's not likely a host. Short flights, short stops, then long enough for photos. Lots of sawflies around here, but never with a 'shield' or whatever those shapes are around its forelegs. Antennae also unusual.

Crabro?
I believe it's something in the genus Crabro.

It has the distinct "wasp waist", so not a sawfly.

Crabro?
Thanks for your quick response! I should have picked up on the lack of a wasp waist... Searching on Crabro led to C. latipes - seems to me this is it.
