Apis mellifera colony - Apis mellifera - Devils Cash Box near Montosa Canyon, Santa Rita Mts, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA August 30, 2020
On a north-facing limestone cliff on a cool, cloudy day. I have seen these exposed colonies a few times (sometimes just honeycomb and other times with bees covering it) on rock cliffs and once on a high branch of a cottonwood tree. Frass if not appropriate for BugGuide.
