Speyeria species? - Speyeria

Speyeria species? - Speyeria
Wright's Lake , El Dorado County, California, USA
August 26, 2020
Size: 2/3-3/4 inch
I observed this Speyeria species visiting wildflowers surrounding a parking lot on the south side of the open access gate to Wright's Lake.

Speyeria species?
After viewing Speyeria species in Jeffrey Glassberg's Butterflies Through Binoculars of the West, I've determined that this is more than likely a female Coronis Fritillary visiting an aster.

Speyeria species?
This Speyeria image was referred to a butterfly expert, Ray Bruun, from a Flickr contact of mine and he indicated that the image is that of a Mormon Fritillary because of the flight period and shape.
