Black-patched Clepsis Moth - Clepsis melaleucanus

Black-patched Clepsis Moth - Clepsis melaleucanus
Natural Bridge State Park, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA
June 1, 2008
Saw this on a leaf near the ground and didn't realize it was a moth at first; it looked like debris that had just fallen on the leaf. It was small, but I managed to get a couple shots that show it pretty well. Any help id'ing it would be appreciated.

Looks like this
image of Acleris semipurpurana (Oak Leaftier Moth - Hodges#3503)

Clepsis
That image is misidentified. I went ahead and posted the correction. But they are the same species, which is Clepsis melaleucana. Good eye on the match ... it was just that the comparison photo was incorrect.

Thanks
for the correction. To me it looks like 3503 either is highly variable, or it has become a dumping ground for anything kind of close, so I did have my suspicions. That is why I selected the phrase "like this image". I should have used "like this image in" instead of "like this image of". Thanks again.

No worries
The mistake wasn't yours. In fact, I'm glad I got to view that page, because I noticed that all four of Jerry's images are incorrectly placed there. I haven't had to time yet to sort out what they are, but they are most certainly not semipurpurana. But besides the one, and Jerry's four, the rest of the semipurpurana images look okay and are within the normal variation.
