Garden spider? - Neoscona

Garden spider? - Neoscona
Bay Shore, Suffolk County, New York, USA
September 4, 2020
This specimen spun a very large web across a large by window outside my living room. My guess is that it is consuming a species of wasp. There is also the remains of a desicated dragonfly dangling in the web.

If..
If actually Neoscona crucifera (wait for expert review), she may take her nest down during the day (I think eat it) and put it up again near your house. In the past I have gently and carefully moved them when they have built their nest in a bad spot like right in front of the main entrance. Ive seen them curl up and sleep the day away in the same spot.
