I captured this curculio on Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) moving intentionally, at least by appearance, to a silvery checkerspot caterpillar. I had captured this behavior a few days before with my phone (terrible pictures) where the two were next to each other and touching. In this series of pictures, I have one zoomed out that shows how far the curculio had to go to reach the caterpillar, and this one where it looks like it's reaching for it.
