Stilt-legged Fly (Micropezidae) - Taeniaptera trivittata

Stilt-legged Fly (Micropezidae) - Taeniaptera trivittata
Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, USA
August 9, 2020
Size: 1 to 1.5 cm
I found this bug on the lower leaves of a small flowering plant. There were others around. Another pair was observed mating. Time: mid-morning
What is throwing me off, is the face. The only other bug I've seen with a similar face is a picture-winged fly, but this one has folded back wings and a skinny torso

Do you have a dorsal shot you can add?

Also, thank you very much!

Unfortunately no. This is is the only angle of shot that I got. I'll keep an eye out for them and maybe I can get another one.
