Metallic Wood-boring Beetle - Phaenops fulvoguttata - Female
Horner Park, Richmond Hill (N43º52'20.8"W079º24'45.2"elev.203m), York Region, Ontario, Canada
June 5, 2008
Size: 8.5 mm
One of the larger individuals. These beetles were so plentiful that I had to be careful not to crush any while crossing over the log to avoid the thick tangle of foliage and dead branches on both sides (as I had worked myself into some of the thicker areas of the forest). Wish I had tried harder to take better pictures, though.
