Yellow-haired fly - Villa

Yellow-haired fly - Villa
Squamish, British Columbia, Canada
September 19, 2020
Size: less than 1 cm
These are two of many shots I have of this fly - I can provide other views if they would help with an id. I found it in a small patch of asters, along with bees, drone flies, bristle flies, globetails, and others, perhaps 15 species in total. Many were familiar or I at least had a hint of where to start looking but I'm coming up blank with this one. Is it possible that it's a bee fly? Can anyone point me in a likely direction? Many thanks.

Thanks -
Yes - that fly was observed about 300 mi from here. I understand id to species is "iffy". Many thanks for being so helpful with my many questions.
