Question
I believe I know the species of this moth, but to be sure I'd like to know: Is your area, or an area nearby, a habitat type consisting of a more sandy soil type (as opposed to clay-like) with tracts of either Long-leaf or Short-leaf Pine forest?

RE:Question
Yes to all questions. Shortleaf is the most dominant, with several hundred acres of reforested long leaf. Rx burned on regular basis as well.

Perfect
I was pretty sure this was a Schinia bimatris (sometimes called the White Flower Moth), but I wanted to double check the habitat because they're pretty habitat specific. Excellent find, and first one for the guide. I'll move it over to the species page.

Thanks!
Appreciate you following up with it. Will be on the lookout for more this fall
