Moved
Moved from Longlegged Flies.

Sciapodinae?
Seems to have branched M, which indicates Sciapodinae, but does not match any species I can find and the subfamily usually perches with spread wings.

Dolichopodidae.
A longlegged fly in the family Dolichopodidae that really 'does' have long legs! This one is probably a male (note the 'ornamental' expansions of the 'toes' on the front 'feet,' otherwise known as the terminal tarsal segments).

Long-legged Fly
Thanks, Eric. I realize now that I sent in a photo last year of one of these flies but the color on this fly shows up much better.
