Green Hopper - Oecanthus forbesi - Female
Dixie Briggs Nature Preserve, Kane County, Illinois, USA

Size: 1.5 inch
On Goldenrod in dry prairie hill. I thought it was katydid but have difficulty finding its genus. It was also found in another nature preserve in meadow on sunflowers but younger.

..well west of Ohio indicates Forbes' tree cricket.
