Ironweed Curculio -
Rhodobaenus tredecimpunctatus
Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri, USA
June 11, 2008
Size: approx 1/2 inch
This little guy was busy sticking that beak into the stem of a young sunflower, the ants were crawling all over him and it didn't seem to bother him in the least.

I found the same on my sunflo
I found the same on my sunflowers two days ago. I hope they don't end up destroying my plants.
