On a large mossy/lichen-covered rock. Several of them were "dancing" in a coordinated, bizzare unison.

I think Ken is right...
The shape of the head is not like Psocidae. I'd like to know more about the behavior you observed. How many individuals were "dancing" in unison?

 
Dancing behavior
Maybe a 2 to 3 dozen of them. It was on a lichen/moss covered rock in a mixed forest (with an adjacent wetland).
