German Yellowjacket Nest with Pupae - Vespula germanica

By June 23, It appears that one more pupa has been removed from the nest, and I haven't seen the queen or any other adult near it since the 10th. It appears that the queen has abandoned a failed nest. Although I have continued to observe the nest, there has been little change. Apparently, building a nest out in the open was not a good idea.
