Syrphid Fly - Sphecomyia vittata - Male

To me it looks somewhere between Spilomyia and Temnostoma, but I can't find a match.
It was at the summit of Mt. Watatic, nectaring on some small white flowers.

The females have a slightly wider eye-gap:
