Mournful sphinx - Enyo lugubris

Mournful sphinx - Enyo lugubris
Abbeville, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, USA
October 2, 2020
Size: Louisiana
Thinking this moth is a Mournful Sphinx - Hodges#7851 (Enyo lugubris)
But curious if it can be also classified as a male, since Images has a number of examples with the angular tail parts, as does this sighting.
