Leafhopper with a false eye - Clastoptera proteus

Leafhopper with a false eye - Clastoptera proteus
Oak Ridge, Anderson County, Tennessee, USA
June 12, 2008
Size: 1/4"
This little leafhopper was on a shrub in a field. I had to look closely to see which end was which because the false eye was so convincing! The true eye is well camouflaged in the black stripe on the head. I looked for this insect on the leafhopper section of Bugguide, but I didn't see it. Can anyone tell me what kind it is? Thanks!

Dogwood Spittlebug
Thanks for your help on the ID, Rita! I found it on an Alternate Leaf Dogwood leaf.

false eye
Thanks for the comment! I had always wondered why they had a round, shiny black spot near the wing tip.

Wow
Even the pattern on the wings is set up to make it look like a yellow "bee" with wings and abdomen going the other direction!
