Size: app 7 mm
A fly believed to be a female of the Syrphidae family nectaring Brassicaceae- Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritimum), The Landing’s Sparrow Field “Pollinator Garden Berm”, Skidaway Island, Savannah, Ga. It was app 65 degrees, overcast, The Sweet Alyssum was planted adjacent to our milkweed plants to support our members of the Syrphidae family, whose larvae serve as benaficial predators of the aphids, that feed on the milkweed species!

I believe the submission is a female Oblique Stripetail (Allograpta obliqua)
