Taken from Lindgren Funnel Trap set out for a couple of days & nights.

BG has none from CA that have enough detail to validate the specimens for L. depressa. Hope these detailed photos verify this to species.

Important characters taken from Skvarla (1) and Manual of Nearctic Diptera Vol 2 (2). Skvarla has great photos for of characters also.

-- Ventral surface of thorax with fairly dense, evenly spaced spiniform setae.
-- Halters present.
-- Two or three fronto-orbital bristles present on each side.
-- Tibia 1 (protibia) apical spur thin, hair-like. Compare this to the apical tibial spur on the mesotibia which is much thicker and longer.
