Red-eyed Yellow Aphid - Drepanosiphum

Red-eyed Yellow Aphid - Drepanosiphum
Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, USA
October 3, 2020
Yellow aphid I caught out of the air with my hands when I saw it flying next to me. I was right next to a Japanese maple, but I don't think that was its destination.

It has some black lines on its head area, and some brown marks on its back. The cornicles appear to be pointing forward, which seems unusual when I compare to any other aphid.

From the side view you can see the antennae appear to be at least 1.5x the length of the body, and there's some gray thing just before the head. That gray thing appeared on other lateral photos as well, so I think it's part of the aphid.
