Identification of genus requires comparison of wing venation:(1) "Distinguishing males of Compsocryptus and Lanugo from photos is next to impossible because it depends upon the position of a vein in the hindwing, which is rarely visible in photos."(2) "In Lanugo, the apex of 3A is closer to the anal margin of the wing than it is to 1A."(3) - Bob Carlson
