Badister transversus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen. Some clues that help distinguish this species include uniformly dark
Badister
with iridescent back and a conspicuous notch atop *right* mandible. Incidentally, there is single specimen of same species from Groton, MA, 8-VI-2008, but no corresponding image was submitted by you. Thanks Tom.
