Acronicta maybe but the fringe doesn't seem right.(see A. marmorata but that's not it) The fringe looks more like Sympistis augustus. Good luck! I am dying to know the proper ID.

I also posted a picture on iNaturalist, and an entomologist at Colorado State who has been very helpful in IDs has ID'd it there as 'Pale Western Cutworm Moth' Agrotis orthogonia (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/62007386#activity_identification_135251569)

Wow I hope you are right. It certainly looks 98% closer than my shots in the dark. I appreciate the opportunity to try and find such a difficult one. That would be a first for BG in Nebraska.
