I photographed this spider at 35°07'33.2N 106°32'40.9W, Alameda 7.5’ quadrangle on its web spun on the vines of a Hedera helix (English Ivy), Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia Creeper) mix.

All but the last (anterior) image is of the spider perched in the center of its web at night. During the day, it usually retreats to within a cluster of leaves at the top of the web. It mimics a dead curled leaf itself, so is well concealed there. I was able to get the last shot the following day with it within such a cluster. I was unable to obtain a fully dorsal view.

Species ID is based in part on Laura P.'s comment about the median white line on the anterior abdomen of A. illaudatus being less extensive and bold than that of A. gemmoides.
