Microcentrum retinerve - male

Microcentrum retinerve - Male
Mt. Kisco, Westchester County, New York, USA
September 26, 2020
I have encountered this species repeatedly in PA, DE, MD, and IN, but only ever found females, despite hearing males calling in the trees. Upon hearing them once again around the hotel at night, I made a careful search of the hotel grounds but failed to locate any. I then hopped in the car and started checking every gas station I came across. At the third one I finally had success, capturing this male up at a light. I was surprised to discover no previous BG records from NY - they are well established and quite abundant in this area, judging by the numbers of singing males.
