Thyreocoridae
and an immature one at that... but I dont blame you for thinking it was a beetle... I know I have to do a double-take when I see one of these

The silver-marked one is a nymph and the all-black ones are adults.
The "silver" is the abdomen, but appears black as an adult because they grow black wings over the top.

Not Beetle -
antennae are wrong for beetle but right for Bug - Heteroptera. Could it be Thyreocoridae?
