Overwintering?
So these guys overwinter as adults? Does that mean I should put it outside/in the fridge over the winter if I wish to keep it?

No
If you put it in the fridge, it will go to sleep, but I'm not sure how long it can survive in there.
If you put it outside, it will probably fly away or try to fly away.
Why would you want to keep it? I don't recommend making moths into pets. My cat likes the idea. (yummy)

Breeding Moths
I am interested in breeding moths. I have already raised a few species (Hyles lineata, Synchlora aerata, Smerinthus ophthalmica, Noctua pronuba), and have some experience keeping and breeding moths. My cat does love watching them in the large indoor cage I usually keep them in. It says Lithophane moths overwinter, so I wouldn't see why putting it in the fridge is any different than what it does outside (besides actually being warmer in the fridge).
