Brachyleptura champlaini - Brachyleptura brevis

Brachyleptura champlaini - Brachyleptura brevis
Hereford, Blatimore County, Maryland, USA
July 1, 2005
Size: 12 mm
Found dead inside windowpane. 39.6008, -76.6425

I think this is Brachyleptura champlaini but I am not entirely sure. Plus, the taxonomy has become confusing. I have several definite B. vagans (black with orange humeral spots) from Southern Maryland and several definite B. brevis (black with orange lateral stripes) from Central Maine in my collection. According to the new Canadian Cerambycidae catalog (Bousquet et al, 2017), B. brevis is proposed to be the correct/updated name for B. champlaini. However, they leave open the possibility that B. brevis (black with orange lateral stripes) and B. champlaini (tan elytra) might be distinct species?
