Palpada furcata... male. DNA
Palpada furcata... male.
DNA studies suggest Palpada furcata is Neotropical but they can`t be separated from northern specimens by morphological differences. The authors of "Field Guide to the Flower Flies of Northeastern North America" by Jeffrey H. Skevington and Michele M. Locke et al think the northern specimens could turn out to be a new undescribed species but we are still at this moment placing them all in Palpada furcata.

Thanks for the update. I used the guide, and was unsure if status had changed.
