Mayfly, Shenandoah National Park, 15Sep20 - Isonychia
Rapidan River, Shenandoah National Park, Madison County, Virginia, USA
September 15, 2020
Size: 20 mm
Dark brown mayfly seen along the Rapidan River in the Shenandoah National Park on afternoon of 15Sep20, Would like to know the scientific name.

Moved from Mayflies.

Hi Robert-

I believe this female subimago to be of genus Isonychia.

As to its scientific name, at least (8) species of Isonychia are known to reside in Virginia, and the (subimaginal lifestage) of the vast majority of them are not even described in scientific literature.

Moved to Ephemeroptera for expert attention
Moved from ID Request.

Roger, our mayfly expert, will take the ID further.
