Gyponana nymph and instar exoskeletons - Gyponana

Gyponana nymph and instar exoskeletons - Gyponana
Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin, USA
June 18, 2008
Size: 1.5 to 8mm
This photo shows side by side comparison of the nymph and instar exoskeletons found at intervals up to day 21. Amazing how they are complete with antennae and spines on the legs. QUESTION: At what age will they be adults? I would like to take a final photo and release them.

This is a great series
I'd love to see a shot of your jar set-up too - maybe in the equipment section if not suitable here.

Jar set-up
Hannah, I posted some photos in the equipment section. These Gyponana are still in the same Mason canning jar I used for the twig in which their eggs were oviposited. They literally position themselves on a soft green portion of host plant stem and stay there for days, so a smaller jar seems to suit them just fine.

Thanks!
For other interested parties, here's a thumbnail link to those jars:

This series just keeps getting nicer -
can't wait to see the adult. How are all the other twigs doing?

I agree, I can't wait to see the adult too...
...I just hope I can keep them alive long enough. In regards to the other jars...so far I have 4 with live bugs (2 have punctures on goldenrod with Oecanthinae, 1 had a splayed area on Mulberry with Miridae, and 1 had slits on Ash with Gyponana.
