Ataxia hubbardi
This species is close to Ataxia crypta but is separable by the color pattern. A double-check character would be the presence or absence of a strong longitudinal medial sulcus on the metasternum - present in crypta and absent in hubbardi.

This species can be common on the stems of wild sunflower and is also attracted to lights.
