Richia praefixa? - Richia praefixa - Male
Mesa Verde National Park, Montezuma County, Colorado, USA
September 21, 2020
Size: ~21 mm TL
Found two of these at this location that evening. There are not many images of this moth currently posted anywhere on the internet. Moth Photographers Group has a couple of mounted specimens and BAMONA has one image of a live moth. Note the orbicular and reniform spots thickly outlined white. Also note the white dash perpendicular to and crossing the basal line. We had a report of this species from Colorado submitted in 2019 by J. Ross but it is sitting in Frass. It is not a great image, but I do think he had the ID correct. Here is a link to that frassed image.
